2015 Liebster Award

2015 Liebster Award

I recently was nominated for the Liebster Award by two awesome bloggers. Jessica at The Greenish Mommy has some great posts about “Mommy Shaming” and comparing “Natural vs. Chemical.” Anne from Stretch Your Peso blogs on a wide variety of topics from DIY, to parenting, and life hacks. The award is a way to recognize other great blogs.

  3. Are you a morning or night person?
  4. Who would you say has been the most influential person in your life?
  5. Where do you see yourself in five years?

Now, to accept my prestigious award, I must respond to the questions posed by Jessica and Anne.

I was stuck and confused about my goals for what seemed like a long time. I started blogging after setting off on a new path to “success.” The purpose of my blog is to document the journey and share what I learn along the way.

This is a dangerous question for someone who is pregnant. I can’t choose only one; my two favorites are crab rolls and pecan pie.

What was your first job?

My first jobs were as a babysitter and grocery-store cashier.

What are you having for dinner tonight?

My father-in-law is cooking a turkey dinner.

Pick one word to describe your blog.

My father. He was a teacher. . Although I never took a formal class with him, his lessons have remained the most valuable ones.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I hope to still be happily married to my husband, with four healthy children, debt‑free, building up our assets, and getting close to early semi-retirement.

Who would you say has been the most influential person in your life?

My husband has helped me grow in so many ways. We met when we were both nineteen years old and have become adults together. We had such different upbringings and his experiences have allowed me to adopt new priorities and be more of an open and accepting person.

If you had to be any animal for the rest of your life , what would you pick?

I would really like to fly, but not as a bird. I choose Pegasus.

  2. I have a big problem with procrastination.
  3. I am related to one of the witches who died in Salem, Massachusetts.
  4. I still have my tongue pierced (done when I was 21), because I just don’t feel the need to take it out.
  5. My husband and I met while working together at a fast-food restaurant.
  6. I love scary movies (not gory, but jump out of your seat scary).

  1. Hi Harmony
Thanks very much for the nomination but I’ll turn it down as I’ve been nominated previously (Aug 2014). I will however, answer one of your questions:

    8. If I gave you $10,000 to spend on something (no paying off debt or investing), what would you buy?

I would use some of that money to visit countries I’ve never been to before, eg the US, Japan and Australia. The rest, I’d probably donate to charity (is that allowed?)
