I suffer from the “Sunday-Night Blues.” My mood darkens and my motivation wanes by dinner time. I often withdraw from others and lose my patience quicker than normal. The overly-ambitious plans made on Friday afternoon are partly to blame. As Monday grows nearer, the burden of an inevitably uncompleted to-do list wears on me. Of course, my thoughts also drift to the dreaded day-care drop off and long commute to my stressful job. These blues are clear evidence that my current career is taking me down the wrong path. But I’m stuck for now. So, in an attempt to make a change for the positive, I will try and focus on my accomplishments (however small) and make a short list of achievable goals.
This weekend was pretty low key. We stayed inside – where it was warm – and spent time with each other. The Ladybug Game was played numerous times. We did really well not spending money. One of our weekend lunches usually consists of fast food, with a cost averaging $13-15. Another small victory this weekend: lunch was homemade both days! Healthier and cheaper food . . . and no one complained 🙂 We accomplished some cleaning during a family “Blitz Clean.” For about an hour, we all go around the house picking up, organizing, and cleaning. I gave Goofy a haircut – which he really needed, and another frugal win. We started to discuss arrangements and assess what we need for when #3 gets here. I gathered up a small box of things to donate – clearing some of the clutter. A couple of items were added to the pile of things that will be listed for sale on eBay. Finally, I did some side-hustling through rewards sites and tutoring.
As for tasks to accomplish this week, I really need to make progress on “Project W” at work. It needs to be finished a.s.a.p. and it would be really helpful to my anxiety level if I could clear this burden from my mind. I have one Christmas gift that needs to be exchanged. I need to start bidding on Republic Wireless phones on eBay or just order new ones. The delightful glucose test is this week (yummy). Last, but not least, I’d like to continue making progress on this blog and my E-book.
It’s January. Everyone is talking about goals for 2015. But what do you want to get accomplished in the next week?
